So you are looking to build a home theater system but do not want to spend tons of cash, here is a solution.

TV installation and Sound bar mounting on the wall

Home Theater Installation

First you have to decide on which TV to buy. An LCD 42 to 50 inch TV are reasonably priced and have very good picture. Try to stay away from the 3D TVs as they are expensive.  Plasma TV are less expensive but they consume a lot of electricity. Make sure that the TV is 1080p and not a 1080i. Here are some good TV’s that are reasonably priced:

Samsung LN46C530 46-Inches 1080p LCD TV – Black
VIZIO E420VA 42-Inch Full HD 1080p LCD HDTV, Black
LG 46LD550 46-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Internet Applications

Second you will need a better sound. The speakers that are build in with the Flat Screen TV’s will not provide you with that stereo sound effect. So what you do is get yourself a sound Bar with a wireless sub woofer. A sound Bar with a wireless sub woofer will give you that theater sound effect without having that big effect on your wallet. Here are some sound bars that are reasonably priced:

LG LSB316 Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer

Polk Audio Surroundbar IHT 3000 Home Entertainment System (Black)

And finally you if want to Mount your TV and  sound bar on the wall or above your fireplace call Nextdaytechs. We will mount your TV on the wall, mount the sound bar and connect and configure your video and audio devices at a fraction of what other services charge. I have an older model Sony home theater which I would like to connect to my LG 55″ LED HDTV 3D SMART TV so I can get surround sound.. It has no HDMI port on the Sony. It has the yellow, white and red ports. Do I need to connect those three to the same color on the back of the tv and if so, do I need any other cord? After I connect, do I need to put the tv on a certain input or will just play?

      Hi Paula

Just connect the 3 cables to the back of the TV and see if it plays. If not go to the set up menu of the TV and set audio to external audio source.
      Hope this helps.
